Well Bowlers we are about halfway through most leagues. There have been a lot of big scores showing up weekly in the BOW(Bowler of the Week) section of the Altoona Mirror. Hopefully everyone is having fun and striving to become better bowlers. Most of all we are happy to see bowlers becoming more competitive and enjoying the sport. So at this time of year we would like to wish all of you a very HAPPY HOLIDAY and safe travel for you and your families while you celebrate family traditions. Thank You from the Altoona District Bowling Assoc.

Thanks to everyone that participated in the city bowling tournament. All of the scores are now posted on the tournament page. The payout will be 1 in every 4 entries will cash. Have a good summer and we look forward to seeing everyone on the lanes again in the fall.

ATTENTION ALL LOCAL BOWLERS. There is still time to put in an entry to the city tournament. If anyone would like to bowl in the tournament this weekend just get your entry form into the association at minimal 1 day before you request to bowl. We have alot of open lanes to bowl on. Come out and try to win some of the extra money that the Altoona District Bowling Association Donated towards the Jackpot. The Entry forms are located at all of the bowling centers. Any questions don’t hesitate to contact Ken Poorman.

We hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday with their families. Now since 2014 has arrived here are some things to think about. Anyone thinking about going to the State Bowling Tournament ? We wish everyone would go to help support our District in the State Tournament. So we have decided to give every male sanctioned bowler in the Altoona district a chance to get your sanctions for free next year . All you have to do is goto any STATE  SPONSORED TOURNAMENT and finish in the top ten winners of the event. Then show us what place you finished and your sanction will be paid for the next year. We want to see some big winners come from our district this year, we know you guys are good enough to do it too. Good Luck To All !

We would like to thank all of the bowlers that have helped support the local Youth Bowling Association with their upcoming 200 Club Raffle. They have been raffling tickets in the leagues at every bowling center to make their fund raiser a success. We are proud of our local bowlers digging in their pockets to make this happen. Thanks again to everyone and don’t forget our 200 club tickets will be out after the 1st of the new year. Contact the association officers you bought your ticket from last year to let them know if you plan on attending this years. If you haven’t been to ours yet, just ask around, you will find out it’s one of the best Raffles you can go to.

Please goto tournament page and click on the links to see the results and payouts. Thanks again to everyone that participated in it.

If it wasn’t for all the local businesses that support our tournaments, the prize payouts would me much less. So please keep that in mind when you go out for dinner, call a contractor, get your car fixed or just out shopping. We ask for you to support these businesses for the way they support the local bowlers. Just go to our sponsors page to check them out and you can even click on their business card and their website will appear for your convenience.
